Arlina Cai
Lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
I paint to make visible what cannot be seen.
Before language, before explanation, before thought, there is sensation, intuition, and the movement of consciousness itself. My paintings are an attempt to remain with that place long enough for it to reveal a form. They are less about depicting the world than about creating the conditions for true awareness.
Slow the mind, ground within the body, and encounter the truth underneath perception.
Painting is an act of attention. The longer I stay, the more the world unfolds, and the more I discover that meaning is not something created, but rather something that emerges through presence. The purpose of my work is not as an object to be understood but as a mirror: a space where viewers might recognize something they have always known but never had the language to describe.
